exciting blog discovery

a journey round my skull is a blog dedicated to the rediscovery of rare and forgotten publications and illutrations. with posts such as poets ranked by beard weight to 20th century japanese magazine covers and excellent source of brain fodder for creative types.....and all those who wake up really early in the summer months and cant get back to sleep.

digging for treasure?

today lottie and i dug a hole. its a really deep hole in a park. apparently digging holes in parks is a good way of making friends. lots of people asked us what we were doing. digging for treasure? park maintenance? laying cables? so we told them... tomorrow this hole is going to house a real live mermaid....and thats the truth it is.

lusting after this gold jacket and corsage from the new range at bando... sadly the jacket is not included in the price { had it been i'd definitely have splashed out 5 dole checks on it}.

I thought leaving my job would mean i had more time on my hands, apparently not so.
i have been busy!
busy finding someone truly worthy to share the best flat in london with the best girl while im away.
i've been rearranging and reorganising, trying to make said flat look as appealing as possible in its own shabby kind of way...without painting everything neutral and removing my beloved carboot treasures.
i've been at 30th birthday picnics surrounded by the loveliest little people and big people too.
i've been at a hen do by the sea and enjoyed rude sounding seafood like cockles and winkles and crab on the beach. played viking cub and ping pong, watched the sun rise and sat around bonfires singing with some wonderful women.
i've been looking {and looking and looking} for work and finally have some interviews coming through :-)
i've been getting handy with second hand chairs and vintage fabric.
i've been clearing out and selling and buying and selling and packaging up and posting. {thank you ebay for keeping food in my belly.}
i've been listening to this...a lot.
i've been wishing i owned one of these and these and these. and that i was going here.
i've been mourning the death of a much loved camera.
i've been dusting off the sewing machine
...and dreaming of the little business I will some day have...
doing something i haven't quite worked out yet.
i've been savoring ice cold shandies in the hammock at the long and golden end of the day.
i've been loving the milky light first thing in the morning...when i'm up with the birds and every thing is luminous.
i've been bbqing every other night and eating salad which we grew in a belfast sink.
i've been having reunions with old uni mates
i've been planning imaginary festivals
i have been trying not to think about my little brother leaving for pandemic central to embark on a great adventure...and leaving me behind! ( sob!)
i have been overwhelmed by the offers of help and willing my dear ones have shown me when i needed it.
have been lapping up every long hour of daylight summer is bountifully providing.
and yes...if im honest i've been putting off the japan plan..... well for these glorious months at least, it feels like the right thing to do.
